Winter and Spring Programming – Group Drumming Classes
Kids Drum and Song Class
A drumming, song and movement class that explores rhythm and music using several percussion instruments and the body. Kids develop their sense of the beat, learn fun African inspired rhythms, sing songs from around the world while using the body as percussion and for actions.

Youth Drum Class
Learn basic rhythms with a focus on the djembe, african dun duns and auxiliary percussion. Bass and high tones will be explored as well as improvisation in a drum circle setting. Introduction to Gun/Dun/Go/Do method. Each student will require a djembe. Rentals and purchases available.

Adult Introductory and Intermediate Drum Class
Learn African inspired rhythms in a drum circle style. Djembes, dunduns and auxiliary percussion are used. Written and auditory explanations will be given, improvisation and rhythmic layering explored. Introductory class emphasises on auditory and improvisation techniques while intermediate focuses more on Gun/Dun/Go/Do method and polyrhythms Each student requires a drum. Rentals and purchases available.
