Agreement Form upon completion. To reserve a time slot a non-refundable deposit of one monthís lessons is required. The non-refundable registration fee of $35 is also due at this time. The registration fee covers the cost for each student to participate in the Winter Concert (Dec 2, 2011) and/or the Azure Music Extravaganza (May 1, 2012), both held at Festival Place. The registration fee also goes toward the cost of food, instrument rentals, programs, planning, stage crew and professional musicians for the concerts.
Payment:
Payment is due before the 1st of every month. Lessons will not be given if payment has not been received. Debit, MasterCard, Visa and cheque are available onsite. A late fee of $20.00 will be charged if payment has not been received by the 2nd of the month. To avoid late fees, post-dated monthly cheques or pre authorized credit card transactions are encouraged. A charge of $40 will result for any NSF cheques. Azure Music Studio offers a 5% discount and a credit towards the registration fee to students that pay for all three terms upon registration (approximately 2 free lessons per student plus $35 off!)
Missed Lessons:
Tuition refunds and make-up lessons will NOT be provided for missed private lessons or group classes. Under extenuating circumstances the instructor may agree (at his/her own discretion) to a make-up lesson; however this in not the policy of the Azure Music Studio.
Substitute Instructors:
Instructors that are unable to make a lesson will do his/her best to find a substitute. In the event that a substitute is not found the lesson will be cancelled and made-up at a time that is best for both the instructor and the student. Please note: students that are studying jazz and contemporary music may have a substitute that specializes in an instrument other than the studentís principal instrument. Azure Music Studio believes there is benefit in receiving substitute instruction from a professional musician of another instrument to examine such musical components as breathing techniques, theory, improvisation, ensemble work, conducting skills and composition. Each instructor reserves the right to choose a professional musician as a substitute regardless of the substitute’s principal instrument. The instruction received will be counted as a regular lesson and tuition will NOT be refunded.
Termination:
If you choose to withdraw from lessons, Azure Music Studio requires an Azure Music Studio Termination Form be completed at least 30 days prior to terminating. Azure Music Studio Termination Forms can be obtained by emailing info@azuremusicstudio.com or by calling 780.417.4771 and speaking to a representative from the studio. Registration fees are non-refundable. Students that have taken advantage of the full payment option will be refunded any unused tuition less the $35 registration fee.
Books/Materials:
The student is responsible for purchasing their own books, instruments and any other required materials. These are not included in the lesson price. Each student must bring a note book or binder and manuscript paper to each lesson. Books and materials can be purchased from Azure Music Studio through our book transfer program. Please speak with an Azure Music Studio representative. Students are encouraged to take their own notes during the lesson.
Protocol of the Lesson:
Please arrive on time! The instructor is not responsible for giving extra time to late students, as this is unfair to the next student and the instructor. When arriving at the studio please come in and wait in the seating area for your lesson. Students are encouraged to practice daily and goals will be set. We aim to provide lessons that are educational, fun, encourage creativity and are inspiring. Rude/inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion from the lesson whereby a refund will NOT be given.

There will be two scheduled concerts and other informal performance opportunities through the year. All students, regardless of level, are encouraged to participate. The concerts give students the opportunity to showcase material learned while promoting performance skills. Both Festival Place concerts are open to the public.
