School Workshops and Drum Circles
School events are tailored to the objectives of the teacher. Objectives can include school spirit, music rhythm workshops, team building, stress relief,
empowerment, self-expression, icebreakers and year-end celebrations. Students are often grouped by age. Children 8 and up are offered larger drums in addition to auxiliary percussion. These circles focus on inclusivity and equality.
Song circles are ideal for children under 8. These consist of singing songs, with minimal use of percussion instruments. The objectives for song circles are social interaction, self-expression, and exploring musical styles and cultures. Rhythmic explorations are emphasized.
The recommended size for a school group is 30, but can range from 5 participants to hundreds.
